Take an Art Class Registration is now open
Open Studio (2 hours) – Each session will have a still life and/or drapery set up. Bring your favorite water-based media and draw/ paint how you wish. This is great for those who might not have space in their own home but love to paint or draw, or for those who enjoy working in community. This is an open, self-guided environment meant to foster a community of artists that can help each other grow in their own art practice. Registration Fee: $10 per session (Space is limited; please give 24 hours advance notice).
January – 24, 28, 31, 10am -12pm
February-7, 11, 21, 28 10am -12pm
March- 6, 10, 13, 20, 24, 27, 31 10am -12pm
Creative Awakenings (2 hours) - Discover or Rediscover your creative spirit within. This is a class about taming the inner critic, giving oneself permission to create, and having fun with the creative process. We will ask questions such as “what does the word “creative” mean to me?” No artistic experience needed. Registration Fee: $25.00 + $5.00 supply fee per session. Registration due by Jan. 27.
February – 7, 21, 28 6:30pm-8:30pm
Letting Go of What We Know (in 4 sessions) - This is a very beginning drawing class focused on exploring various ways we can observe, interpret, and draw from life. The exercises and ideas we cover can help many learn to shut off the left side of the brain and begin using the right side of the brain; a basic issue with most people who struggle with drawing. A couple of resources I use for this class are the books, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, and The Natural Way to Draw. Registration Fee: $72.00 + $15.00 supply fee. Registration due by Feb. 24.
